Protecting the health and wellbeing of our neighbors is our #1 priority. We are balancing a need for support systems and connection with the goal of reducing contact and maintaining a safe distance from others.
STEP ONE: You signup to receive help and fill out what you need from your neighbors. If you need groceries, compile a list of grocery items you email to your helper (sorting by section is recommended)! If you need a prescription picked up, be sure you have the address of the pharmacy and pickup policy ready to share with your helper.
Please be aware: Many things are out of stock and lines are very long. Volunteers can only go to one store per trip and may not be able to go to your specific neighborhood store. If you need an extremely specific type of item, we recommend scheduling an Instacart delivery. Please be reasonable with your list; write it as if you are going on a weekly shopping trip.
STEP TWO: You will receive a call from a volunteer verifying what you need and when they can help you. Please be patient! :-)
STEP THREE: Arrange payment with your volunteer. They will drop off your order on your doorstep on in a no-contact area for you.

PAYMENTS WITH WESTSIDE FRIENDS
OPTION A: Call your store/pharmacy in advance to place the order and pay your credit card over the phone, letting them know that someone will be picking it up on your behalf. Stores that offer pre-ordering with in-store pickup, please check out:Target, Walmart, Ralphs, and Whole Foods.
OPTION B: Reimburse your helper with cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle (we recommend avoiding cash or check if possible)
DO I NEED TO TIP? No, we are a grassroots volunteer organization and want to help out of kindness. You don't need to tip, but please show patience and gratitude to your helper!
